27 of the Best WordPress Themes for Photographers

Most photographers need a website that they can update easily and frequently as they add new photos and sets to their portfolio. WordPress is a great platform for that, in part because there are already a number of well-designed photography templates available. Photography websites often use a minimal design style to keep the focus on the photos, and for this reason templates and pre-made themes can be more appropriate for photographers than for some other types of businesses.

In this post we’ll showcase 27 WordPress themes from various designers that are created especially for photographers.

Yeah! It is better to buy a theme, then to download it for free, these are of much more high quality and I like that everyone can get the tech support every time they need quickly. I use the themes of the oQey sites. Though I don’t see their themes in this collection, I tend to say about them because I use them for a long period of time and they work perfectly. I bought the theme Brittania for $49 and even if I had some little problems with its installing, it works now great. If you got interested you can take a look at their themes. Good luck and good job!

Free templates are not as good as paid, sometimes it pays to pay for quality.

  • dambovita, September 13, 2011

all are paid. any free themes?

    • Vandelay Website Design, September 13, 2011

You can find free themes if you search for them. However, the purpose of this post is to show themes that are good for professional photographers, and free themes are almost always a bad fit for professional websites.

Great collection here but I do like Photoland.

  • Virtual Agent, March 18, 2011

I love the “sideways” theme, it has a direct and arresting layout, especially if the chosen opening photo would be quite undeniably stunning. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s affordable as well.

    • Vandelay Website Design, March 15, 2011

It’s possible, but not very likely. WordPress is much more popular with our readers and it’s a CMS that we use very frequently in our own work.
